School of Social Work
Master of Social Work
Empowering you to shape change
Fulfill your role
Social
Workers tackle problems many people face everyday --
mental illness, violence, drug abuse, racism, poverty,
ageism and family issues. These challenges defy "one size
fits all" approaches or quick-fix solutions. Meeting
the complex needs of our society's most vulnerable members
requires an ever-growing level of specialized knowledge
and skills.
There may not be easy answers to these
problems, but there are answers. At Eastern Michigan
University's School of Social Work, we work with you
to build the skills you'll need and find the solutions
that'll make a difference in your community and organization
and, ultimately, in the lives of those you're committed
to serve.
Find your place
At EMU, we want you to be challenged
in the classroom -- not in getting there.
That's why we designed the M.S.W. program to be as flexible as possible for
professionals already working in the field. For your convenience, we offer:
classes
on evenings and Saturdays to fit your schedule
locations
in Detroit and Ypsilanti to allow you to study close
to home and/or work
the
possibility of field placements in your current employment
setting
You'll grow under the personal instruction
of EMU's renowned School of Social Work faculty and explore
new ideas with colleagues from across the region. And,
you won't have to wait until you complete the program to
enjoy the benefits of learning -- they begin with your first
class.
